Painted Lady butterfly (Wild Lydney)

It is hard to capture this one, no I'm only joking. It sat in front of me saying, please take my picture so I can be famous? Yes, I certainly will!

Common Blue butterfly (Wild Lydney)

This is common, but not for me. I love them, that beauty of the butterflies. When it gets the summer sunlight, it circulates around, and when it grows darker, it will fall again, showing itself to everyone.

Common Darter (The Marshes, Lydney)

It was a nice day, wow. It is fantastic, how much we feel when its sunny, it seems so far away. I was in two minds, wether I should go up to visit the forest, but they (weather persons), had said that it would rain about 1300hrs, so I stayed down in the the Marshes. I must be stupid or something, it didn't rain, in fact it was a lovelly day. Well!!!!!!!!!!!!

Nuthatch (Cyril Hart Arboretum)

The bedraggled Nuthatch in the rain, showers after showers. It rained a lot, but, in Lydney, 6 miles away, it didn't get any. I think it would be better, if a little nearer to my home.

Black Swan

This one is a little late, I took it while I was at Slimbridge WWT. As you guessed, it was a bit too showery here. Yet another day without a camera!

Tatty butterflies

The Meadow Brown was quite shriveled.

And then there was the Gatekeeper, with half of it's wings. How does it fly?

Wren (Lydney)

It was a terrible day, shower after shower. Just as you went out and take some photos, it burst into the happy song of rain. Yea, I don't think so................

Silver-washed Fritillary (Moseley Green)

Its been a whole year since I publish this one, but a little bit nicer. The S-W F is a mouthful, so I will call it SWF.

Friday 17 July 2009

Lanner Falcon

It was raining, all day. In fact it doesn't want to stop for longer than half a day. It must be something to do with St Swithins! Still, I have a little picture for you.

Thursday 16 July 2009

Black-tailed Skimmer

I caught this one about 10 minutes before the sky darkened and it began to rain. I wonder if he knew that?

Well, you caught me at it, playing with my macro! It was raining in the morning, but I made it out in the afternoon, where things just popped up and take you by surprise. What a load of rubbish I'm talking..................

Sunday 5 July 2009

Brahminy Kite

I went to Nagshead nature reserve, which was rather dull, and later started to rain. So, I put up this lovely bird. I hope you don't mind.

Cormorant (Lydney boating pool)

This one doesn't seem to mind me, he/she let me quite close. But, when someone came along, who it doesn't know, it is up and fly away.

Friday 3 July 2009

Common Evening-primrose

It was a bit dismal; no sunshine this morning. But, it became sunny in the afternoon, which I couldn't go out, because too many people were coming round.
