Marsh Tit at Cannop Ponds

Another Marsh Tit at the feeding spot. It's good for those birds, and the people who go there just watch them and those that are going to feed them.

Mistle Thrush at Foxes Bridge colliery

It is here, not that it has disappeared, only hiding in amongst behind leaves. The "storm cock", (another name for them), can be heard in December calling for it's mate, and will lay their eggs in February and ready about March.

It's a nice change, better the weather. We have had the Ruddy Darter before, but with November coming along, it was very close to it's finale.

Flamingo at Slimbridge WWT

It was a lousy day, high winds and rain. I spent my day up in Cirencester with my mum & dad. They are vegetarians, like me, who tend to make good food. And, I had some apples which were lovely. I took away a lot, and I didn't even pay for them, whoopsee. Maybe I'll get it to them somehow. It is time to show you a Slimbridge Flamingo.

This Sparrowhawk was hiding, not very well I think. I took this shot from behind the double glazing, a real asset to the climate change, but it makes poor one for trying to photography.

The bottom of the Severn Bridge taken at Beachley

It was a gloomy sort of day, but I went out anyway. The M48 didn't take its usual traffic, it must have been the high winds.

Wednesday 1 October 2008

Greylag Goose at Lydney boating pool

I had a meeting with Dave Morris from GLS, to discuss the fence and the gate (which is locked), by the Docks. It stopped me, (and many more who can't get through for certain reasons), going there. It's a most beautiful site. And, there are many birds, the Dunlin, Green Sandpiper, Oystercatcher, Water Pipit, Turnstone and Wheatear. Why then, can't we go and see them?
